Characterful Victorian home

This property although it had most of its original features it had been neglected over the years. The layout upstairs needed to be re-jigged to incorporate an en-suite for the master bedroom, the family bathroom moved to make way for a larger bedroom and then to make the separate toilet part of the main bathroom.

Downstairs the small original kitchen was still at the back of the property, leading to a large dining area with a large fireplace. The customers wanted a lovely open plan kitchen dining area so it was suggested these two rooms were knocked into one with an extension added at the back, with 3 large Velux windows placed in the pitched roof to add more light.

Real fires were installed to replace the modern editions, the existing coving was repaired and the old skirting and wood work was replicated to give a seamless flow between the old and the new sections.

Every room was then plastered and decorated to make the most of the Victorian features but with a modern twist.
